Image List: Traditional Fine Art Black and White Photography

Each image is listed below. Clicking on the name will take you to a page with the technical information as well as a short, general description about the image. All images are shot as found; no manipulation of the items or their environment is performed. Shot only using natural light (and very rarely with a reflected fill). Prints are made to only one size per image, and the size selection is based on what I feel best fits the image. For more on my ideas about print sizing see my article here.

I believe that prints are (or should be) purchased based on the aesthetic value of the image, rather than the sheer size. Pricing is slightly different between the sizes only to compensate for framing and shipping costs. I frame all the images personally using only the finest archival materials available.

I hand make each print as it is ordered, prints are archivally fixed and washed according to the current standards as determined by Ilford's extensive testing. Prints are then Selenium toned, dried and drymounted to 4 ply buffered Bright White 100% rag board. Overmats (4-ply) are generous (11x14" for 5x7 prints, 14x18" for 8x10 prints, and 20x24" for 11x14 prints), and each image is optically centered within the vertically oriented frame. Overmats are cut with 1/8" border on top, left, and right, and a 1/2" border along the bottom edge. Glazing is 1/8" Acrylite OP-3 AR (a scratch resistant acrylic glazing which filters 98% of UV light). UV glass glazing may be substituted upon request. Frames are high quality, matte-black wood of a square shape with a 1 1/8" face. Prints are signed and numbered on the mat.
