2001 Bishop, CA; This manual-powered meat slicing machine was on open display in an old train depot, tucked within several other items of no particular affiliation. Everything in the place was covered with years of dust and even though it was mid-day, a beautiful, dusty light was falling through the high, south-facing window. It was still, however, dark enough to require an exposure into the minutes. I had to wait until it seemed unlikely that anyone else would enter the room, as the old plank floor had quite a bit of bounce to it when it was walked upon. After a few shots being vibrated into ruins by passer-by's, I got the still floor I needed for the shot.
